I began my apprenticeship in Prineville Oregon, the business was called Campbell and Sons Painting then and it was just my Father, my brother, and myself. I began to learn interior and exterior painting as well as custom finishes. One of our first projects was the repainting of the historic Paisley high school which was a very fulfilling project for me and my Father to do. Then, we were charged with matching the pre-existing antiqued woodwork of the historic Redmond Hotel with brand new stain and lacquer woodwork, which we did perfectly. Throughout the following years, the business faced adversity when in 2007 my Father was diagnosed with brain cancer (Glioblastoma Multiforme) which he later sadly lost the battle to. Shortly thereafter, the recession hit and it hit us especially hard. We were unable to keep the business alive and reluctantly dissolved the corporation. I continued my knowledge of painting and construction the entire time, working for other painting companies and construction companies doing all that I could to increase my understanding of the trades and how to maintain a sustainable product as well a sustainable business.
I have completed projects for Builders such as Kirby Naglehout, C&S construction, Sun Forest, Structure Development and R&H construction. I have worked hand in hand with Blaine Noland Painting and Construction and was able to be a part of the earliest development of that corporation. I was able to be a part of painting several homes for free and have donated my time to help with the refurbishment of the Redmond Senior Center. We have taken part in painting full subdivisions of Pahlisch homes located in Bend, Redmond, and Prineville and broadened our knowledge of new construction. I have also been privileged to be involved with the evolution of DeRocks Painting as well as Morse Paint and Design while maintaining professional relationships with both and collaborating with Michael Bailey Painting and Genesis Painting over the years. We are not interested in competition but rather cooperation and sustainable growth. This company is dedicated to sticking around and leaving something of substance for the next generation.
“Construction is a satisfying endeavor that I am able to proudly acknowledge being a part of, and the projects I’ve completed or took part in that I drive by throughout the passing years whisper to me of legacy.” – Founder Jerimy Campbell
